However, if you’re looking for a general rule of thumb, I highly recommend looking for the following things in a new computer:
Intel Core i5 processor (or i7 but that might be overkill - just not i3)
8GB RAM minimum, preferably more if possible
250GB SSD or larger
That’s pretty much it. Anything else is a bonus for most of my clients and most computer users in general. If you aren’t doing much more than web surfing, email, and word processing, these specifications will be everything you need.
